To be or not to be!
It is a crucial game for Steaua,the only romanian team that has the convenience after many year to reach the Champions League groups.During the last years a lot of investments were made which produced an UEFA Cup semifinal against Middlesbrough,lost in the last 15 miutes of the game.
Now the posture is diffirenet becouse we are talking about the biggest european club competition and the stake is really big.Both Standard and Steaua will do anything for a positive result in the first leg,which certainly comprises a watchful development of the game.
Standard didn't exactly start very well the new season,close by disaster actually with two defeats,both with the same score 2-1(away at Lokeren and at home against Charleroi).This is why I think the belgians will please to take their fans revenge which means a good result and not to lose on no account.
On the other hand Steaua started brilliant the new campaign,not allowing any goal so far.It was the opening game at Timisoara which concluded in a goaless draw and 4 days ago ravaging Universitatea Craiova 3-0.
I think we have very good chances of under here.
Not only becouse Iacob-Steaua's best striker will miss the game-but mainly becouse of their coach Olaroiu who will surely start very defensive-minded looking for counters and being more concerned not to lose the game,not to concede eventually.
As far as I know Standard is not very offensive either.In fact they are not even enabled for something else due to the danger of conceding a goal at home-equivalent with a semi failure in a way.
All the signs are favoring a lowscoring game and the odds are good to worth.
